Comments:
I've been running my K3 remotely on 6m for several weeks now. This system works
pretty well for just FT8/FT4. Basically, I'm using VNC Server / VNC Viewer to
control the MacBook. Biggest drawbacks are that I can't change antennas, so I
can't change bands, and I can't rotate the antenna.
I was actually at the station at the start, worked for about an hour, then had
to leave. I dabbled in the contest off and on. There was a lot of activity, but
much of it was merely local. There occasionally were short bursts of
propagation.
It was funny, the day before the contest, I was copying European signals on 6m
FT8, although I haven't yet managed to complete a contact. The day of the
contest, barely any long-distance propagation.
My first experience with a remote contest.
