Comments:
A serious effort was NOT to be, this year. Missed first 4 hours (other stuff to
do) so I apparently missed the decent 20m short skip opening btwn WV and
W1-area... and many early counties from the mobiles. Then, multiple waves of
localized thunderstorms took me off air, early and mid-evening. Further, I
split time in the Stew Perry 160m Summer event starting at 00z.
Did manage multiple Q's with AA4TI/m (CW-5)and N8OYY/m (SSB-4) which kept the
interest level up. Got the most QSOs for me in any WVQP, so that's good! N8II
(five Q's, TNX Jeff!) and K3JT (4), Bonus W8WVA (4) and WA8KAN (3) led the way
for fixed station contacts. Twenty unique WV calls were worked - TNX for your
activity!
Now on to the dreaded Summary Sheet to accompany my log submission! Note to
WVQP sponsors: PLEASE get rid of the requirement to submit a summary sheet;
it's no longer really necessary in the age of e-logs!! Very, very few QPs
require it any more ... time to ditch it!
73, Bill W1WBB
