Comments:

Improvised a portable station using KX3 with internal NiMH batteries and a
"Super Antenna" portable vertical with 6 sloping radials. Laptop
operating from internal
battery running N1MM+. I was amazed at how many stations just couldn't hear
me...no rhyme nor reason at my end...THEY were plenty loud! Struggled making Q's
until near sunset then gave up. It was a good exercise in emergency setup and
communication.
