Comments:

Just like last year I did very little running. I know it can be counter
productive but I do enjoy mult hunting. Maybe when the solar numbers get better
and 10 & esp 15 can be a good run option I'll switch hats. I made a few Q's
with the 2nd radio but since my amp is down for that rig it was not always as
effective as it should be.

Last year was 875Q's 99zones 114HQ for 620K so I'm happy to beat that but always
shoot for that elusive meg score. Maybe next year. I also decided to do mixed
mode this time even though not much time was spent in the phone band but I think
that can work in my favor. That needs more investigation.

I shut down just after 0700z for a nap with hopes of grabbing some more op time
after a rest. Plus the bands were cooked by that time so this year I did get up
2 hours before the end of the test to see what was on to work. Last year I
bagged getting up early. Made 63 Q's from 1015z till the end. The high bands
are not on fire in that early time slot so I hopped around to work what dx I
could find that could hear me. There is usually some juicy Pacific stuff coming
through around daybreak even though it was already very light out when the alarm
went off at 1000z (6am local - starts getting light out around 0930z). But you
need alooominum to work that juicy Pacifc stuff you see spotted, hi. I got some
good mults and had fun.

24 hour contests are a piece of cake and you still have a day of the weekend to
spare. Us retired guys live a ground hog day mentality pretty much every day
anyway. Punxsutawney Phil for PA governor!
