Comments:
Yeow! Operating during a rainstorm (no thunder heard) when suddenly there was a
nearby (not here) lightning strike that caused my computer and my K3s to shut
down. I dove under the desk and pulled the A-C plug, ran out to the garage and
disconnected antenna feedlines to the six-pak and checked out the house
electronic. All was well. After the rainstorm passed and not much in the way of
local lightning--a good three hours--I checked out the radio and the computer.
All's well in both cases. Everything seems to be operating normally--except this
morning's sudden loss of COM3 port in the computer was still the same: no COM3
(N1MM keying for the radio). Bummer.
Thanks for the 43 QSOs I did manage to make before the sudden shutdown.
