Had amplifier failure on right side station, I think one of the 2 LDMOSes in amp
is goner, I just noticed power to be about 500 watts when I moved to 80 and now
looking at bias it seems to be about half what it should be. Don't know how
much time it may have been gone already on 20 m as amp is on the side bench
outside of my view. It is 1st time I have blown LDMOS without any apparent
reason or operator error like transmitting without antenna... When I noticed it
I had already my travel amp set and ready to go with push of the button with
maybe 900 watts out. It actually seemed to work quite well still on 80 so whole
thing was more of distraction. I think conditions were excellent from here on
