Comments:
Been off the air for 6 months as I repaired my SteppIR. It worked flawlessly,
but I wasn't very good. Took more than 3 hours to get rig all set up again to
communicate with antenna to track freq. Then using K3 Utility to check com
ports and found my firmware was out of date. So sure, UPDATE it. After many
minutes the K3 still worked and I was on my way to get in the CQ WW. Next N1MM
said there was new software - sure UPDATE it. Gee things were still working.
OK, lets make RF, but it didn't. Running FSK. Checked SSB mode and there was
RF. Got out Fred Cady bible. TX DATA and FSK D helped. Receiving RTTY pretty
well and tried to call a station. NO answer. Tried a couple more. Nothing.
Changed INVERT in MMTTY. Worked now, but that isn't a good place to invert
data. Back to the bible and changed FSK POL in K3 and all is good. Only put in
8 hours but worked out a lot of problems again that I forgot about. I had to
generate some meger score so that Knight, NJ4Q had something to write about (he
won't operate digital and just learned how to use a microphone).
