Comments:
Score and operating time is for 15 meters. All band score is 2,173,026. Would
have preferred to make a serious Classic effort but much of the antenna damage
from last winters icestorm has still not been repaired - only band with a rotary
antenna is 15 meters so opted for entering as single band. I couldn't resist
putting in time on other bands at some cost to my single band score. Fifteen
meter conditions were pretty good but possibly slightly below last year with the
band closing a little earlier and opening a little later than last year. Ended
up with 100 less Q's but 3 more multipliers than last year. Also had 34 less
zero point USA contacts so score is only slightly below last year. Missed zones
17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 26,and 34 on 15. worked all but 22, 23, and 34 on other
bands.
BIC time was about 24 hours but took many short breaks so Classic time would be
several hours higher. About 7.5 of my hours were on other bands so only about
16.5 on 15 meters. Best 60 minute total was 164 on Sunday morning. Had 5 hours
of 100+ and two more over 90. Always nice to be called by a rare multiplier and
9G5FI made me very happy this year.
I do all my own antenna work and at 80 I'm SLOW. Hopefully by ARRL DX I'll have
enough of them repaired to do a semi-serious all band effort.
