.
Pushed the band map "clean sweep" very hard trying to maximize the QSO
totals.
By 9 UT on Sunday there was no station to work with. This made my Sun evening
very slow and struggle to log new calls.
Prepared for full 48h. Interesting that mentally had no issues all the way
down however physically the second 24h was more convenient than the first part.
The propagation was quite good. Never had so good JA sunrise opening like now
however quite a lot country mult remained on the band.
Which killed the end...
At around 21:00 UT on Sunday some incredible noise started covering the whole
40m band. http://ha3ln.hu/40.jpg
Looked around on different bands and even on webSDRs to see if it's local but
seemed really wide spread. From that moment W3LPL became a QRP like station
and could be heard only on peaks. Struggled to grab all the closer stations
and switched off at 22:30. The net 3000 QSO mark could have been reached.
Hard luck...
Overall, it was a great contest. An elevated 1/4 vertical (4 elevated radials)
was used. I'm really keen to see what will be the difference if the Yagi will
be on its place.
The "Steel Nerve" Award goes to 9N7AA. It's unbelievable how s/he
tolerated
the pile-up called "zoo". Actually, 9V1YC was very close tho the top
too.
Thanks for the calls.
73!
