It is always a pleasure listening to the east coast and Caribbean stations
working EU on 160m. Still, I had fun testing out the newly redone 160m
shunt-fed antenna from last summer. It worked much better than the old 80/160m
compromise antenna and had more bandwidth too. The repairs I did on the FL-7000
amplifier last summer also paid dividends as I was able to run 500W consistently
with no overheating. Unfortunately, the band condx were not spectacular so run
rates were low and a lot of S&P was required. This year's score was better
than the previous two years, so life is good. See you in the next one.
