Comments:

Portable attempt from SOTA summit Flint Peak, W6/CT-225. Friday eve I strung
up a 180' doublet, but it tuned to about 10:1 and folded back the
tx power to 2 watts. W6PH and N6JV heard me!
Saturday I extended the antenna to full size and managed to get it in the air.
It tuned better, but only to 4 watts out. It garnered 17 more QSOs.
The wind picked up around 0330Z so I packed up and walked back to the car.
I could hear stations all over the country plus several VEs. DX
heard was NP2X, ZF5T, P40AA, PJ2T, V31XX, WE1HG, XE2X.
The station was a KX3, hand keying, hand logging. The antenna was strung between
a 30' Spiderbeam pole lashed to a sign post and a distant fence, with a 20'
fishing pole propping up some of the 256' long sagging wire. The doublet was fed
with CAT5 single twisted pair.
I forgot to call CQ and look at any RBN spots. Next time.
Thanks for hearing my pipsqueak signal.

73,
David N6AN
