Comments:

100 W, dipoles up 5-7 m. No memory/function/voice-keyer keying.

The night before the contest, there were a few wrinkles. I went to put the
feedline on my 80/160 m antenna in the cold and dark, and in doing so the
connector fell off. Fortunately I had decided to bring the tool kit, so I was
able to repair it at the expense of not getting to bed as early as I had hoped.
With that hurdle aside, I was ready for the contest.

Conditions seemed okay, though 20 m wasn't open to Europe in the morning like I
generally remember. Rates were good at the beginning of the contest, but by
mid/late morning, they really slowed down as I couldn't get much traction on 20
or 15 meters. I picked up a bunch of contacts on SSB on 40 m, but was never
able to establish a run frequency on 20 m SSB---too crowded.

I was a bit disappointed in the results on 160 m and 10 m. For 10 m, I could
hear a bunch of FT8, but despite calling CQ for quite a while on a few
occasions, I only worked one other station just down the road. On 160 m, I
found very few folks went to poke around, as I spent quite a while calling CQ
there in the last half hour, but with only one contact each mode to show for it.

It was exciting that from about 3 PM onward, I could tell I would beat my
personal best MNQP, which was also the Le Sueur County record from last year.
Indeed, I got the 73,000 points needed to break it well before the end, but it
would appear KB0EO has broken the record by a very substantial margin.

Thanks for the contacts!
