Saturday operated from home single band on 10 Meters using a CB whip on Weber
BBQ. Two Qs - XE2IF and ZF5T. Thanks. Sunday morning I didn't hear much on the
CB whip, so went out portable with a full size 1/4 wave whip on the SUV. Heard a
bunch of stuff. Best DX worked was D4L and CR3DX. Was hoping for Europe, but
nil. Active geomagnetic conditions earlier (K index went to 5) depressed
northern paths. Sunday afternoon the temperature here in Lawrence, KS was 60F
and sunny. So out portable again. Logged 4 Hawaii stations -- KH6LC was very
loud. Worked 3 New Zealand stations. ZP6/N3BNA was a nice catch. With Solar
Cycle 25 picking up, hope next year to set up a portable yagi.
