Three named storms disrupted the weekend - 'Dudley' on Wednesday, 'Eunice' which
was forecast to be particularly bad Friday into Saturday, and 'Franklin' on
Sunday. Given the early warnings I decided to put most of my antennas out of
harms way and just leave the 80m dipole up and see what I could manage.
Conditions on 80 weren't great. The first night was ok but the 2nd night was
dire with little worked and gave up around 0330 and escaped to bed. I came on
for the final hour and worked just 8 more. I cheered myself up on Sunday with a
few short spells on 20m with a vertical until I realised my Moxon at head height
actually worked really well....;-) Conditions seemed good on 20m and a new kid
on the block is always fun.
