Op on 40 only band condx were good so decided to stick with 40. I ran CW for a
while then switched to PH later. I was fresh meat on PH, when I called CQ I was
getting one pileup after another, sometime 5 or 6 deep! Rate meter per 10 QSO
was up in the 140's with my 100w to inv vee! I've been in some domestic
contests, where it was difficult to find any MI at all, but a great turnout for
our QSO Party!
My long standing QRM problem which sounds like some form of broadband data
disappeared in February and hasn't been back. It used to be s9 plus on some
freqs but now it's very quiet S1 or less. If a sig is above the atmospheric
background I can hear it. It was beautifully quiet on 40 for the contest!
