Comments:

I did not begin this SS with any expectations as I knew that since there was a
USC vs. UCLA football game scheduled for Saturday night, that I would be taking
about five hours of prime off during SS to focus on the game (Go Trojans!).
Also, I currently did not have a 75M antenna installed so the closer sections
would be a challenge. I started on 10M and the conditions were so good that I
just stayed there for 1.5 hours making 128 QSOs. I spent the next few hours
mainly on 15M until taking my five-hour game break. When I gave my section as
LAX, at least a dozen stations commented on hard it was to find LAX during the
SS CW weekend. I have not missed many SS CW weekends since the 1960's (My check
is 59), but this year I was on vacation. I would have loved to been the rare
one for a change. When I began operating again on Sunday morning, I still needed
21 mults. Over the day I kept chipping away at the mults and finally at about
0100Z I found EB on 40M for the sweep. Wow, another great SS was in the log!

K4, KPA1500, MP-33N-WARC and 40M Inverted V both at 30 ft

73, Jim W6KC
