Heard 3B8M on 160 for an hour on Friday night but no joy this year.
Didn't hear them Saturday night. But, was great to hear the big signals
from 3B8 and 3B9 on the other bands, tho. These were about the only real
DX signals heard here. Missing all the Far East and Australia stations,
and even KH6 was scarcely heard here.
A few hours into the CQWW fone contest, both my 40 and 80 meter
antenna systems developed high SWR problems, so ditched that contest.
No hardware problems this time, some noise on the low bands, but the
biggest problem is my eyes get very sore after looking at anything for
a few minutes. It is difficult to do a lot of things like S&P log
checking or trying to work someone on the second radio with my
eyes closed. I almost threw in the towel after the first couple
of hours, but kept applying eye lubricant and kept my eyes closed
the majority of the time.
Guess it's time to open them now.
