Thanks for the QSOs!
A bit of an EU run on Friday night, zippo on Saturday eve. A couple of G's early
Sunday AM..I had a run rate of 60 the first hour, 50 the second hour, then
mediocre after that.
I was using a Beta version of the new Center Terminated Shared Ground Array from
Mark Bauman KB7FG, the designer of the SAL series RX antennas. Mostly on weak
signals, (the honest RST of 119 variety!) otherwise the K2AV FCP. Decent
directivity, F/B adjustment still needs work on my part. Better than 200' BOG in
some cases. Very compact as in 4 - 14' elements in N, S, E, W direction with
elements 5" above ground (sort of, rocky Nova Scotia in the woods) The
CT-SGA was quieter than the SAL-20, also in the woods. RG6 runs everywhere :-),
hey, it's ham radio after all. I am in urban Halifax, a city lot but just so
happen to share a backyard boundary with Mt St Vincent University, an
undeveloped piece of property that is mostly a power line ROW.
73, Roger VA1RST
SunSDR2 Pro, Palstar LA-1K at 750 watts, K2AV FCP on TX, RX antennas as above in
dialog.
