Comments:
A FUN EVENT, ALTHOUGH NOT MUCH ACTION ON PHONE. CALLED "CQ" ON 40m
ON-&-OFF FOR ALMOST AN HOUR WITH NO WORKABLE RESPONSE. (MADE FREQUENT BAND
CHANGES TO 80m AND TO 20m TO CHECK ON CONDITIONS.) THOSE STATIONS WHICH DID
COME BACK ON 40 WERE SO WEAK THAT I WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE Q (DESPITE MY
MANY ATTEMPTS). S8-9 NOISE WAS ALSO A SIGNIFICANT FACTOR.
FINALLY WENT TO 80m WITH SOME SUCCESS, ALTHOUGH NOISE & FADING SIGNALS WERE
STILL A FACTOR. WAS SUCCESSFUL COMPLETING 10 Qs ON 80m. MANY CALLERS (NON-PVRC
MEMBERS)INQUIRED ABOUT THE REUNION & ABOUT PVRC. THE FEW PVRC MEMBERS I
SPOKE WITH ALSO COMMENTED ON THE POOR CONDITIONS &/OR ON THE FEW STATIONS ON
THE AIR. SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED 1 QSO ON 20m.
THANKS TO ALAN (WA3EKL)& SUSAN (N3DPB)FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO OPERATE FROM
THEIR BEAUTIFUL STATION. ALSO ENJOYED WITH PLEASURE SOME OF THEIR DELICIOUS
COOKING.
AFTER A BRIEF BREAK, I BEGAN CALLING CQ USING THE "W2W" CALL WHILE
PARTICIPATING IN THE "D-DAY" COMMEMORATIVE SPECIAL EVENT FROM THE HAM
CLUB OF THE ELECTRONICS MUSEUM.
THANKS FOR ALL THE CALLS.
73, ZORY KB3VQC
