Comments:

Well, A bit of murphy struck to operation this time.

First off, I could not find the box with my Heil headset that also had the
recorder for ssb playback that goes with my Yaesu before I left to the contest
site. (I found it 10 minutes after I got home Sunday with a suggestion from the
XYL hihi). I also had no mic for computer to record a wav file for cq. That,
combined with a mostly cw crew, left us with out much ssb run time, certainly a
loss of points there. Clayton KJ4YLR did a great job netting most of our ssb
Q's, Juan and I put a few in the log as well.

We also gave it a go with only one radio again, which certainly cost us on mult
opportunities as well. We used 2 in our low power ARRL DX efforts earlier this
year but did not set up this time.

Finally, the Alpha 89 gave us fits the first 8 hours with a maximum grid short.
Pulled it out of line while the guys ran low power and took the cover off. Turns
out there was a bunch of dust and dead ladybugs inside the amp! Need to do a
better job keeping it covered hihi. Cleaned it all out, put back together and it
ran like a champ as it always done. Thing is bullet proof! I don't even know how
many Q's have been made with that 89....

In any case, congrats to all the WRTC teams and several of my Italian friends
for doing a great job hosting the event! It was a pleasure to work all of you in
yet another contest, and to have my friends in the shack for the MS effort. What
a great community!

Best of 73s all
Bryan,
W5MX
