Park portable - Elecraft KX3, 9.5 m vertical 9:1 end-fed wire in tree.
After my crummy 3z session from my apartment balcony, I wanted to make a few
more contacts to finish the day, so I went to the park and deployed my usual
wire antenna. Heather AH7RF joined me for some camaraderie, and we shared my KX3
- I made my contacts with my callsign from the primary key jack with my N1MM+
controlled WinKey, and she made her contacts with her callsign from the
secondary key jack with her portable paddles. I suppose you could call that
2O2CSR?
Bands were not great for QRP during the hour. There were very few skimmer spots
reported on the KH6LC skimmer on 20/40/15, and ever fewer were strong enough to
be likely contacts for QRP. We heard Stan AH6KO working Europe on 20m, but those
stations were barely audible to us. I did get a couple of callers to my run
CQ's, and that's always fun.
Thanks to all for the contacts - hope to be on at least a few time in October.
73/72 and Aloha,
Bob in Honolulu
