Comments:
This was a special operation in memory of Ellen White, W1YL (SK). Ellen was one
of the founders of the Florida Contest Group. She and her husband, Bob, W1CW
(SK) worked at the ARRL for many years. In her time at the League, Ellen had
many roles, including QST Editor and Contest Director, where she managed
Sweepstakes and other contests. Bob was instrumental in resurrecting DXCC after
WW-II. Ellen and Bob's son, Jim, K4OJ (SK)also worked at the League during his
high school years. Bob and Jim's calls - W1CW and K4OJ - were also QRV in this
weekend's SS CW.
While using Ellen's W1YL call this weekend, I received several high-5's from
other ops: RIP, ELLEN, LN.
