Hello from windy Kawaihae, Big Island!
KX2 and endfed. Windier than 3z, and I had to keep going outside to either
check on the antenna or to raise it again. And this time, the mast stayed up!
the wire kept blowing off, and I had to keep reattaching it with more tape. It
stayed up juuuust long enough to get a contact with Stan AH6KO (And a
"yay" from him, as well!). I tried working a few other stations, no
luck. 40m on this endfed isn't ever great for me, and no luck getting spotted.
But I'll claim success on this - it's stupid gusty and windy out there, and I
managed to sort of make it work! The endfed is definitely a happier antenna than
my dipole when it's this windy! :-)
Aloha and 72
Heather
