Dennis:
Now that you have updated this very nice amplifier and now have higher
d.c voltage, you might want to do this:
For 3500 Volts as your plate supply, these are the specs.

DC = 3500
Ip = 250 ma Zero signal
Ip = 800 ma Max Signal
Ig = 200 ma Max Signal
Drive Power - 45 watts
Cathode Impedance = 67 ohms

One thing to remember about this unit is it contains a voltage doubler
supply. You may want to consider a new Dahl transformer and make it a
full wave bridge.

The other thing...this amplifier (RF-2000) was operated as a zero bias
triode with no bias circuit...only a 50K/10w resistor in the cathode
that is switched out on xmt.
You might try this trick...Use 1000 PIV/2.5 amp diodes.. They make
excellent zeners. They are rated at .6 volt. Use as many as necessary
to establish your no signal resting current. Place these diodes in
series (remember .6 volt per diode) with the 50K/10 w resistor lead
that goes to the by-pass cap and junction with the plate meter.

Also, they did make a BTI model known as the LK-2000 HD which had a
beefed up power supply.
Can you believe this amp (BTI-LK-2000) sold for $795.00 w/tube in 1970.
It was made by Hafstrom Technical Products, Inc. in San Diego.

Bob - K4NV
