If the arcing is at the tune cap. (and/or bandswitch), and not at the
load cap., it could be a an intermittent osc. at c. 95MHz. To find out
if it was a parasite, measure the value of the VHF parasitic suppressor
resistors. Much increased ohms with no outward sign of damage indicates
VHF energy payed a visit.
