The YC156 is *not* the same as the 3CX5000A7. Mechanically it is, but
electrically its significantly different - higher heater voltage, lower
heater current, greater warm-up time, designed for pulsed use, greater
input and output capacitance's, different bias voltage, etc. etc. etc.

I've been told by someone at Eimac, that apart from some electrical
tests performed at Eimac, the YC156 is identical to the 3CPX5000A7,
which is a pulsed tube. The YC156 is also identical, apart from the
smaller anode, to the 3CX15000B7. I mention this since I was advised to
use the 3CX15000B7 as a basis for determing CW/SSB operating conditions
for the YC156. The YC156 (or 3CPX5000A7) data sheets don't give any data
for SSB or CW, although I've been advised they will be fine for amatuer
service in such modes.
