I have had problems with capacitors releasing energy after they have
supposedly discharge. OK, so the HV bleeder should take care of it, but I
put a shorting lead with alligator clips across the capacitor bank after
having discharged it. If you forget to remove it afterwards, it can be fun -
if you lose the diodes, you should have put better protection in. However,
even the cost of a diode string is less than the cost of a funeral.
