Just RG-58 of all things. The plug was cut off the AC line when I got it.
I put a whole new assembly on it for 120 VAC and brought it up slow on a
Variac allowing some space for the electrolytics to reform.
Turns out it's wired for 230 and I'm only getting half to primaries. So
it is putting out about 1200 VDC no-load with the half normal mains.
I'll rewire the mains for real 120 operation after I reverse eng the 5
terminal block with all the crazy strapping on board.

To be honest, I prefer not to use PL-259's and N's for HV, but I see it
done, often. Not to mention that I get PL-259's in phenolic, blue epoxy
and teflon and I'm sure they all have diff ratings. I'll see if I can
look up the MHV spec and get back to you direct.

I'll be in Scotland next July for a month. If you still need some I'll
pop one in the suitcase for you.

cheers
