I picked up a single-tube 7289 cavity amp at Pack-Rat's Hamfest today. It is
said to be usable on 1296 MHz. The main chassis is about 7 inches by 8
inches by 1.5 inches thick, and the main cavity (2.25 inch OD) sticks out
about 4.5 inches from the bottom of the chassis with the input cavity (0.75
inch OD) then running out the side of this cavity for about 12.25 inches.
A smaller cavity parallels the main cavity and has a plate tuning control on
it.

The main cavity says "MP46 MP47 inside".
The input cavity is labeled "MP45" and "Cathode Tuning".

The plate tuning control is labeled "MP49 MP50".

Numbers on the bottom of the main chassis are

"R 655300-2" and "2014-2".

The grid collar (I think) says "97151/7334774-3"
and "MFR-05584/A1075".

Anyone have any info on this unit?

Before I start building a supply a la N6CA I'd like to be reasonably sure of
what I have.

If its "a go", I'm looking forward to a lot of fun getting it working...

I also got 2 spare tubes; if anyone has a line on additional good or even
new 7289's, drop me a line with details...Same goes for appropriate plate
transformers...

Thanks in advance,
