4CX3000A/8169 and it supposedly tested low on emission, I would have it
tested elsewhere. Unsolicited advice: write the s/n of the tube down
and check it against the returned tube. // The main disadvantages of
the 8169 are: socket (Y330B) rarity, socket cost, and the high pressure
requirement of the blower. I would try to trade for an 8171. It has a
larger more efficient, cooler. It has handles. A quiet, slow speed,
blower will cool an 8171 very ok for amateur service. SK-300a sockets
are easy to come by. The chassis space req. is c. the same as a
4-1000A/8166 w. glass chimney. In Class A, the power out is around
1500w. In Class AB1, somewhat more. However, one should not use more
power than is necessary to communicate. Info on an 8171 grid and bridge
