Not if you use a YC-156 style triode Lars.
Actually I would probably prefer a tube that requires an IPA. Then I
could operate with enough power to be heard most of the time and then
kick in the big amp when necessary. A 10dB step increase will not raise
as much comment as 20dB +.

I run a 1200W tetrode amp on 6M and drive with 12-15W. It is a a real
pain at times to work locals, etc with the low power and yet the 1200W is
overkill.

The following is to the group:
Instead of a lot of unsubstantiated blustering from both sides of the DAF
issue how about some real data from a spectrum analyzer? Not only the
basic 2 tone test but a full analysis under voice condx. 
I have a spectrum analyzer as do many others....bring a DAF amp to me and
I'll run some honest unbiased tests.
