It's a derivative, because it generates the screen voltage by rectifying
the RF drive, but:

* The screen rectifier arrangement is different
* It uses sweep tubes
* It uses cathode bias

 ...a bit like, "The handle has been changed and so has the head, but
it's still a broom."
