A novupler is a self-powered 9x frequency multiplier. I built one using
the Motorola IN5150 step-recovery diode. Ten watts in on two meters
produces approx. 2 1/2w out at 1296 MHz. I once used this one to
communicate over 70 miles. The novupler works on CW or FM modes. It is
not useful for SSB. This one is for sale for ten dollars postpaid -
including a spare 1N5150.
