Hi Phil and Co.

> The only reason I've been thinking of a dual 4CX250B amplifier is;

I was under the impression you were particular to use only two
tubes. The older ARRL, Radio Amateurs VHF Manual has a
50MHz three tube 4cx250B amplifier. The tubes are horizontal
and the construction of the amplifier could be done with more
modern techniques, but the basic circuit is a winner. If that gets
your motor going, I could scan the amp diagram or mail you photocopy.

They breed in the drawers, like paper clips and coat hangers in the
closets.

> 2. I've got some (but limited) knowledge and experience of the tube.

A real worker when properly applied. I run the anode voltage slightly
higher than the mfgrs choice, but I've never had one fail, ever.

cheers
