In reference to Mike K7DD inquiry about Ameritron's use of stainless steel
vs. aluminum chassis is more a matter of economic sense than electronic
effect. In a telephone conversation last year with Ameritron I was informed
they switched to a stainless steel chassis because of physical strength.
Ameritron was receiving too many returned amplifiers with bent chassis due
to shipping damage. The use of stainless steel chassis helped solve this
problem.
