All SSB signals splatter.  The question is how much.

None of these turkeys made my great scientists list.  Ferdinand Magellan 
said he knew the earth was round because he had seen its shadow on the 
moon.  Flat earthers have mainly been holy men and ancient astronomers 
like Ptolemy.  Copernicus - who may have picked up on Magellan's 
observation - plus Kepler and Galileo were scientists that got it right.  
They made my great scientists list.  Numerous popes professed that earth 
was the center of the universe.  .  In October of 1992,  pope John Paul 
II acknowledged that Earth revolves around the Sun.
