I planned on building my own amplifier when I "got around to it",
and gathered some of the parts, which I am now finding and
unpacking. Suffice it to say, that I never got around to it, and
likely will not.
I have a 35 uf, 5000 volt filter cap available. It is oil filled,
and looks like it should do the job in just about any amp that one
would want to build. Physically, it is about 7 1/2 inches high,
plus another inch for the terminals, 5 + inches wide by 4 +
inches. $45 plus shipping from Florida.
