Also the choice of a convenient tube or socket helps a lot to avoid
troubles, likewise a mechanical layout that's proper .
I used different home made PAs since the early 80s, none of them has
nichrome or suppressors and none suffered even a little "bang" or a single
tube failure along the last 20 years of "heavy" contesting. Other amps did
instead require suppressors but any of them required its own design and not
a standard one.
How to avoid parasitics it's surely a real and interesting topic but I've
sometimes the feeling that mostly it serves to prevent the manufacturer
could drop responsibilities in tubes failure.
