I use Carborendum Type C Globar resistors  as Rsupp on all my amps >4-1000A
and larger.

I got the idea  from Eimac...they used these in their line of RF generators for
years. Since they clip in, they can be checked easily during annual cleaning.
I have never had one get out of tolerance.
