Hi Bill,
   Noooo.... not definitely not DAF but, SSB amplification by Envelope
Elimination and Restoration (EER).

   This is actually very old knowledge.  I refer you to the original
article by Leonard R. Kahn on pp 803-806 of the July 1952 Proceedings of
the IRE.

   For a more contemporary explanation, see an article by Frederick Raab
on pp. 70-73 of the May 1994 RF Design magazine.

   Both of the above implementations are handicapped by trying to amplify
an already generated SSB signal.  This requires a substantial delay in
the RF chain to equalize the slower signal path of the audio (modulation)
chain.  

   I have the advantage in my proposed scheme in that I can equalize the
paths in the DSP section before the SSB signal is created.
