Rich, this is solved by mounting the tube and socket upside down so that the
tube is blown into the socket.  This allows one magnitude greater velocity.

If one out of three stations you work do not comment on the blower noise,
you do not have enough.  The really good blowers can only be used for cw
stations or remote operation.
