Hello all,
Does anyone have any knowledge about how I go about feeding a dual
4-1000A grounded grid amplifier with a dual 7.5V 21A CT secondary filament
transformer? I am unable to find any examples of multi-tube G-G amplifiers
with multiple filament transformers.
My idea is to split the drive to 2 .01 caps to one side of each tube then
have a .01 across each tubes filament pins. Each tube would be fed filament
power through separate filament chokes. I would then tie the two center
taps together and on to the bias and metering.
Does this sound like a reasonable approach?
Should I use a separate bias zener off of the CT for each tube and tie
them together and into the metering circuit?
Of course, I could go out and buy a single Dahl 42A filament transformer
($195), but would rather use what I have on hand. It appears that this
filament transformer was designed for two 4-1000A's in grid driven service.
