I find that odd, since most of the "comprehensive information" is 
really just hand-waving and technical baffle-gab.

To me it illustrates a problem when people believe such nonsense. 
If amateur operators were more skilled technically, they would see 
that.

For example, it's very easy to measure the impedances of the 
anode system and see what currents are required from the tube to 
drive the impedances to the voltages required to cause an arc.

When those numbers are looked at, the evidence shows as 
frequency is raised or lower from the operating frequency of the PA 
the likelihood of an arc is greatly decreased.

It seems more people used to be smart enough to understand if a 
PA is underloaded, or if the load faults in way that unloads the tank 
system, the voltages in the tank will be extraordinarily high.

Now it seems a percentage of out group have lost some basic 
common-sense skills.
