Barry-

Am using here with no switching. I just pull in the keying relay
and leave it in. Use a resistor in line with keying relay to
lower idle current.
There is enough signal leakage to hear fine on 80 and 40.
Well, there was until I put the new IF filter in, but that's
just gonna take some tweaking to get matched right.
