I haven't yet figured out how to properly reply to these amps questions with
the history, but that's life. When it comes to checking output power It
seems no one remembers the old standby meter. The rf ammeter is still,
today, a very good cross-check on power meters of any type. I recently
bought one from an estate sale, 9 amps, which of course is doog for about
4kw out into a 50 ohm load. all you need is a known 50 ohm load that can
handle the power. I use one any time I have the slightest question in my
mind, and that's pretty often. I have several of these things of different
current levels and I wouldn't be without them!! Just one old ham's
viewpoint. 73 carl / kz5ca
