/\  The fly in the ointment is that the FT-1000 is a fast radio on All 
modes.  It starts putting out RF  5mS after the PTT switch. or 
footswitch, or VOX circuit, or send switch closes.  Thus, unless the 
amplifier switches quicker than 5mS,  hotswitching is likely.
