I don't know whether there's a correlation between physical size and life. I have a Sprague 32 mfD 450v electrolytic, manufactured in 1944. It hadn't been used for 40 years until I checked it out last year, when it still had all its capacity (+20% actually), the leakage current was under 30 microamps, and as far as I could tell, the ESR at 100 Hz was under 0.5 ohms.
