Just my three cents about the power transformer frequency
response topic.
-
I've had reason to drive various HF Amplifier HV power
transformers with high frequency voltage (NMR probe
work).
-
The classic black Collins 2250 vrms secondary unit
which is a popular salvage from surplus gear holds it's
own to well above 14Khz.
-
Most of the common surplus open frame units I tried
were dead animals about a few hundred hertz. I tested
about six different style surplus transformers, using the
Collins unit for the application.
-
You can not assume a power transformer's frequency
response will fall off sharply right above "normal" mains
frequencies of 50/60Hz. One would have to test it to
know for sure.

cheers
