For an inductive input filter the RMS ripple current is equal to the output 
current if you have  a single phase  supply. For a capacitive input filter the 
max ripple current will be equal to the square root of 2 (1.414) times the DC 
output current.

I was give 12 radial 450 vdc 220uf capacitors and was
wondering if they were ok to use in a HV power supply.
 What would I gain if I spent the extra money for the
computer grade?  Are the radial types ok even though
they are much smaller?
