What year did the FCC increase the legal limit from 1 KW average plate
input power of all stages contributing power to the antenna to 1.5KW PEP
output?
Years ago if you were running a grounded grid amplifier you were limited to
1 KW average plate input power as determined by B+ values and a plate
current meters with no more than .25 second time constant in both the
amplifier and exciter or transceiver. So if you had a pair of 6146s driving
a grounded grid amplifier you had to include the 90 watts or so of average
plate input power of your transceiver along with that of the amplifier.
